We KNOW you’re sick of hearing about Chelsea Clinton’s wedding. Frankly, so are we. But to ignore it would be to ignore the red-haired elephant in the room. So let’s do a quick recap.
Yes, Chelsea tied the knot in a mansion overlooking the Hudson River in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Yes, she looked prettier than she’s ever looked in her life (despite what you haters say). The bride wore Vera Wang, it was an interfaith wedding, and their first dance was choreographed by a dancer from “Dancing With the Stars” (not that the Clintons have any ties to Hollywood or anything …).
Chelsea also managed to completely overshadow the wedding of one very pregnant Alicia Keys to Mr. Swizz Beatz last Saturday in a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. It all seems very boring compared to the Clinton gala — until you learn that self-help guru Deepak Chopra officiated the nuptials. Weird.
Bristol Palin Un-Engaged … Again
Just weeks after she announced her second engagement to babydaddy Levi Johnston on the cover of Us Weekly (before she told her own mother), Bristol Palin is a single girl-woman again.
“It’s over. I broke up with him,” Bristol, 19, told People magazine.
Turns out, the same day the Us Weekly story came out, Levi revealed that he might have fathered a baby with another teenage girl (his ex has denied this claim).
“The final straw was him flying to Hollywood for what he told me was to see some hunting show but come to find out it was that music video mocking my family,” she tells the magazine. “He’s just obsessed with the limelight and I got played.”
Guess Bristol’s mama was right about that guy … he’s up to no good.
What Do Sean Penn and Heidi Montag Have in Common?
Sean Penn and Robin Wright break up and get back together again about as often as Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston. But now, they’re officially kaput, People magazine reports.
In Dec. 2007, the two started divorce proceedings after 11 years of marriage, but called it off four months later.
Penn then filed for legal separation in April 2009, but reconciled with his wife in May. Wright filed for divorce last August.
But Sean and Robin aren’t the only former couple who have been to divorce court recently. Plastic surgery fan Heidi Montag has filed for divorce from her reality-husband Spencer Pratt, citing irreconcilable differences.
The blogosphere is abuzz about how the divorce isn’t just for publicity – but perhaps the whole MARRIAGE was just for publicity?
Seems Like Dawson Really Didn’t Like His First Wife …
“Dawson’s Creek” star James Van Der Beek married his pregnant girlfriend Kimberly Brook on Sunday (in Israel surrounded by “teachers”, oddly), Us Weekly reports.
“Best day of my life so far,” he tweeted.
Which makes us wonder, “Dawson” — what about your ex-wife of six years, Heather McComb, whom you officially divorced just five months ago? Were you not happy on the day you married her?
More interesting Van Der Beek ruminations on marriage:
“The woman I love did me the honor of [becoming] my wife today … I look forward to earning her for the rest of my life.”
“The woman I love and I are expecting our first child. Currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed.”
It’s safe to say that Dawson is smitten!
Fourth Time’s the Charm?
We doubt very many of you care that rapper T.I. is getting married … but you may care to know that they will be getting married a total of FOUR times.
T.I. and BET reality star Tameka “Tiny” Cottle tied the knot at a Miami Beach court – but they’ll repeat their vows in an elaborate ceremony in three cities, a rep for the couple tells UsMagazine.com.
We remember when Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock got married all over the country – and look how well that turned out.
