After making her wait 16 years for a rock, Bret Michaels finally proposed to the mother of his two daughters on the Monday night finale of his VH1 reality show, “Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.”

“They swore I was the guy who would never,” the 47-year-old rocker told People. “And it feels awesome.”

Michaels and Kristi Gibson have been on and off for almost two decades — but Michaels’ health scare this year seems to have sealed the deal.

“I love him for him,” Gibson, 39, told People. “I’ve been through everything with him. A ring and a paper wouldn’t make me love him more. I’m just happy he’s alive.”

Meanwhile, another star is happily tying the knot. Shania Twain is engaged to Frederic Thiebaud — the ex-husband of the woman who allegedly stole her husband!

Thiebaud is the ex of Twain’s former best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud — the woman Robert “Mutt” Lange, Twain’s husband of 14 years, allegedly left her for in May 2008. (Both Lange and Marie-Anne denied the affair.)

2. Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren divorce: We’d make this story No. 1, except the real drama happened in 2009, when Tiger’s car accident revealed his texts and trysts to the world. $100 million later, Elin is reportedly dating again.

1. Sandra Bullock and Jesse James divorce: Way to ruin a girl’s Oscar win! Just weeks after Bullock won her first Academy Award, it emerged that her husband, Jesse James, had been cheating on her with tattooed biker babe Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. James went on TV to cry crocodile tears, while Bullock quickly moved on with her life, kicking her ex to the curb and adopting a baby boy on her own. James even referred to himself as “the most hated man in America,” which pretty much summed it up.

We knew Halle Berry wouldn’t be single for long! And her new man is a total hottie.

Berry, 44, has been spotted canoodling with her French “Dark Tide” costar Olivier Martinez, 44, in Paris.

Sandra Bullock and loutish ex-hubby Jesse James officially ended their marriage last week, People confirms.

Think the cheating and the Nazi memorabilia had anything to do with it? We think you’re right.

The Oscar-winning actress, 45, filed for divorce in April. The papers cited “discord or conflict of personalities” as the reason for the split.

Men all over the world can rejoice … Halle Berry and her gorgeous male-model babydaddy Gabriel Aubry have split.

“Berry and Aubry split some time ago, but remain close friends and committed parents to their daughter,” a rep for the actress told Access Hollywood on Sunday.

For those of you keeping score of such things, a source close to Berry and Aubry told People magazine that Berry was the dumper, not the dumpee.
